Making Changes

Now I have some time on the first rendition only 70 tows and we are changing some things.
Previous set up consisted of a 300 amp Alltrax speed controller a vary used set of battery's running 8-6volt for 48volts and a club car 3.2 hp 3060rpm motor driven at 2.4/1 the drum is 8" diameter with 12,000 feet of 8mm Spectra.
Now the speed controller is a Alltrax DCX 600 amp a new set of US 2200 battery's and the same motor driven at 2.18/1 I believe that the controller is over kill and I am planing on a different motor with another ratio change. What is happening is there is vary good torque "AMP's" and a little off on speed "Voltage / Gearing" The take off is strong with no lag what I am looking for is a tow at 1/2 to 3/4 throttle position for a single surface glider in 6-8 mph wind to 1500 feet altitude.
